Ryan E. Fitzgerald, MD
Ryan Fitzgerald, M.D., is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating children and adolescents in complex spinal disorders including scoliosis, kyphosis, and spondylolisthesis. In addition to spinal disorders, he also manages skeletal trauma, complex fractures, deformities of the spine, as well as growth plate injuries, neuromuscular disorders and a variety of sports injuries. Dr. Fitzgerald uses advanced technology to ensure the highest level of safety and accuracy. Whenever possible, he performs minimally invasive surgery, which significantly minimizes trauma, reduces postoperative pain and promotes a quicker recovery.
Dr. Fitzgerald earned his medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford, IL and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Summa Health System in Akron, OH. He received his advanced Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship training at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. He has earned numerous awards and distinctions throughout his medical training. He is a member of American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery: Board Certified, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, and is an active member in the Scoliosis Research Society and the Pediatric Spine Study Group (PSSG).
