In an effort to better serve our patients and their families, our physicians see patients at several of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Outpatient Care Clinics. At the appointment, your child will also be registered as a hospital patient and may receive services, such as an x-ray, which are considered hospital charges. This may result in a hospital charge separate from our physician charges. Consequently, you may be financially responsible for a separate deductible and co-insurance payment for this hospital-based service. Depending on your specific insurance coverage, it is possible that you may pay more for services and procedures furnished at a hospital-based location than you would at our main offices in Tampa and St. Petersburg. This ultimately depends on services provided and the type of insurance coverage involved. This billing process is required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital will work with you to answer any questions you might have regarding billing and determining patient responsibility.
In addition to seeking expert orthopaedic medical care for your child, we know it’s often important for families to know how much their child’s care may cost before their visit. For more information on an estimate for the x-ray, please call the Financial Clearance Department at (727) 767-7016.
