What Parents Say

Scoliosis Surgery
We have three kids all of who play soccer. They are ages 18, 15, and 9. Our daughter has been treated by Children’s Orthopaedic twice, once for a broken arm and the other for two broken bones in her hand both due to sports injuries. Our son was also treated for a broken arm. In each case, we were tended to right away and given the best care. The kids were nervous but the staff and Doctors put them at ease. Their injuries healed perfectly and the follow up care was tremendous. We have since gone back with our other son for treatment on his knee due to sports camp. We are a sports family and there is no other place we would trust our kids to than Children’s Orthopaedic!

Inflamed knee cartilage from soccer, broken hand, two broken arms
Thank you Jonathan and Henry for taking such great care of my daughter, Elli today. Your know-how and friendly personalities really helped to ease Elli’s (and Mom and Dad’s) nerves when Elli got her casts today. You guys work so well with children!

Stretch Casting
Jordan started his first day of high school with lots of excitement but the end of the day turned tragic. During football practice after school, Jordan had a collision with another player after catching the football. A phone call a mother never wants to hear is, “Your son broke his arm and he is being rushed to the ER.” Dr. Hahn and his staff repaired his fracture and was very thorough in explaining the procedure and road to recovery. Luckily, Jordan will be on the football field next season and be able to enjoy what he does best!

Broken Forearm
Finding the right words to express our gratitude is difficult, but you are truly exceptional. Since treating my oldest son Shawn years ago, and now caring for DJ, your compassion, dedication, and skill have meant the world to us. You listen, support, and work alongside us to give DJ the best possible future. From surgery to follow-up care, your entire team—Derrick, Michele, Linda, Sarah, Dr. Smithson, and everyone in the Tampa office—has shown kindness and professionalism. We always feel like DJ’s well-being is the top priority. Thank you for your extraordinary care and dedication. You are a beacon of hope for your patients and their families!

Hip Surgery
Well after 10 months of major rehabilitation and hard work my son Trent (#9 – QB Countryside HS) started his first HS football game last night. Dr. Benfanti was pretty adamant Trent probably would not play until Nov or so but all the hard work he completed on my son’s foot to repair the broken toes Trent was able to play!! Thank you ever so much Dr. Benfanti!!!

Open Reduction Internal Fixation Update
We are so grateful for the amazing team at Children’s Orthopaedic & Scoliosis Surgery Associates, especially in Tampa. Dr. Gregory Hahn first spotted what no other doctor had—leading to my son’s diagnosis of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. After countless fractures, we met with Dr. Scott Beck, who performed Fassier-Duval rodding surgery on my son’s femurs and tibias. Nearly a year later, he’s thriving! Before surgery, he broke a leg every month—now, just one fracture in a year. Thanks to Dr. Beck, Dr. Hahn, and their team, my son can finally be a kid. We are forever grateful!

Osteogenesis Imperfecta
We love Dr. Neustadt! When Keaton was born with bilateral clubfeet we were so concerned and sad with his condition. We began seeing Dr. Neustadt and Derrick in the MLK office when Keaton was only 5 days old. They quickly eased our fears, and soon we were looking forward to seeing them weekly for castings. Keaton just had surgery yesterday and Dr. Neustadt did an amazing job. We are so happy that we did our research and found this office! Very professional and friendly and we have never once second guessed our decision to come here!

Bilateral Clubfeet
Thank you to your wonderful staff for getting my daughter fitted with a cast at 5pm on a Friday. I called at 1pm for an appt and was worked in that same day much to my suprise. Henry asked my four year old daughter three times what color she wanted her cast to be and she kept replying “rainbow!”. So Henry gave her a rainbow cast! Pink, blue, and purple stripes. All her friends at school loved it and her big sister was jealous as well. Thanks Henry, Dr. Warnick, and staff!

Fractured Foot
My son (age 13) fell through a skylight 15ft over the Thanksgiving break and shattered all his toes in his right foot, fractured his tibia and his left wrist. He was brought to All Childrens Hospital in St. Pete under the care of Dr. Paul Benfanti. Dr. Benfanti had the painstakingly hard task of repairing my son’s foot. It’s been about a month and a half and my son is on the long road to recovery. Everyone that we came in contact with at All Childrens and The Orthopaedic Group have been awesome. Dr. Benfanti came very highly recommended by his peers in this specialty. We could not be happier. My son has played football (QB) since he was 7 and we put our faith in Dr. Benfanti’s hands to repair his foot so he can play football again next fall. Thank you to everyone at All Childrens Hospital, Dr. Benfanti and his staff!

Open Reduction Internal Fixation of my son’s right foot
We will never forget you for saving Stephanie’s life with a seven-hour spinal surgery on May 7, 2007. Her congenital scoliosis had progressed to a 74-degree curve, and without your skill, she wouldn’t be here today. Thanks to you, her curve is now just 20 degrees, and she has a future to look forward to. Stephanie cherished her Make-A-Wish trip to Maui, and now, at 20, she’s building a life in California. Your expertise and dedication gave her a second chance, and for that, we are forever grateful. You are truly a miracle worker.

Scoliosis Surgery
My son broke his ankle and we had to go yesterday to get a cast. He is 10 so he was a bit worried. Jonathan got us from the waiting room and immediately played a trick on me looking for a camera. That completely lightened the mood. When we got to the cast room Jonathan involved my daughter in the process and even took a selfie with her, as she’s 12 she loved him instantly. 🙂 He was kind and compassionate to all the families and really made us feel so welcome and helped to make us feel comfortable. He is absolutely invaluable to this office and should get a raise he is so awesome!!!!! The only this I didn’t enjoy was Dr. Beck talking with all 3 families in the cast room about our medical records and history. With that being said Dr. Beck was still an awesome doctor and I will tell everyone I know what a wonderful place this is to go. They really care about their patients and the families too. Great job guys!!!!

Ankle Fracture
My 16 yr old son hurt his knee wrestling, and was referred to this office. My first impression was a clean, comfortable waiting room, the receptionist desk was clearly marked as to which doctor you were seeing. The receptionist was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Our wait time was more than reasonable, actually very little wait time. Dr.Benfanti was very welcoming and friendly, answering all of our questions, didn’t rush the examination, and was very informative. The check out receptionist was nice, and friendly as well. Valerie, who initionally scheduled the appointment,as well as our follow up, very friendly, and nice, and professional.

Knee Injury
Everything about your office oozes professionalism. We were treated so well by everybody from the front office to the casting room. Your staff made sure our visit was trauma free for my little guy and got him back to doing what he loves. Thank you so much for taking a scary time and turning it into a positive experience.

Broken Arm
3 years ago I decided to take a big step to try and correct my bad feet. I did so and the surgery had went wrong with my previous doctor. Now, Dr. Colonel Paul Benfanti U.S. Army (ret) has corrected my feet and redid the surgery. The result is I now walk perfectly! I don’t know what I would have done without Dr. B’s help. Thanks Dr. B

Calcaneal Osteotomy
The service was good while everyone was nice and polite. They worked fast and gentle. The docter is professional, nice and I would recommend him. Overall, I liked the service.

Cast
All three of our boys have received top-notch care from your clinic at various times. We recently had our youngest fall victim to over-confidence and monkey bars. An all too often occurence that your team handled with diligence, care, and expertise that is unmatched. Our youngest was in quite a bit of pain but he was all smiles after Dr Hahn, Caroline (PA), Rick and Jackie were done. Thank you so much for taking great care of him and his two broken arms!

2 Broken Arms!
There is no room for a child to be scared of getting a cast. These guys made it fun and my daughter laughed the whole time. Pictured is staff at Children’s Orthopaedic & Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP Tampa Office

Broken Ankle
When I first came in everyone was very receptive and warm. Derrick made getting my cast put on so much fun my mom and I almost forget we were in a doctors office. Derrick has a wonderful personality that would make any kid go from nervous to calm in seconds. Most of all it was very genuine. Henry was also very warm and patient, allowing my mom to take pictures of every step in removing my cast. Again a day of laughter and well wishes. The entire staff is just wonderful. Dr. Drew Warnick is a cutie, too. Thanks and keep up the EXCELLENT work.

Casting of Broken Foot
Dr Neustadt performed surgery on my sons back for scoliosis. He was able to get the curvature down to less than 28% from 80%. I believe he truly saved my sons life by performing this surgery and I will forever be indebted to him. He is a fabulous doctor and he is a very caring doctor. The staff is very helpful and always polite. You will be very pleased with everything they do for you.

Scoliosis Surgery
Dr. Drew Warnick and the nurses at the Tampa office did an amazing job for my daughter Lily. She was born with a clubfoot and my husband and I were so worried. And everybody at the office made us comfortable and relaxed when explaining everything about the clubfoot. If you see her now you would have never known she was a clubfoot baby. I swear I won’t go anywhere else if my daughters have any problems. I only trust these doctors!!!

Clubfoot
For years, I suffered from hip pain without knowing the cause. Thanks to Dr. Jeff Clarke’s diagnosis and Dr. Drew Warnick’s expertise, I finally found relief. After trying every conservative treatment, surgery became the best option. On April 26, 2011, I had the procedure that changed my life. Recovery was tough—six weeks on crutches and months of therapy—but following my surgeon’s plan was key. By mid-October, I was cleared to run again, and I finished my cross-country season strong. Dr. Warnick didn’t just fix my hip; he gave me two more years to chase my dream. I am forever grateful.

Labral Hip Repair
A great big “thank you” to you and the entire staff at Children’s Orthopedic. Thanks to you my son’s broken arm didn’t interfere with our vacation plans. The waterproof cast was terrific! We are fortunate to have you in our community and we will continue to come to you with our three boys when needed.

Broken Arm
I could never thank Dr. Neustadt and the entire staff at Children’s Orthopaedic enough for their quality of care. I was very active in swimming and running from a very young age so it took me by surprise to learn that I had scoliosis and that surgery was required to correct it. After a successful surgery and recovery process, it was not too long before I was back in the pool and out running again. More than ten years later, I still lead an active lifestyle and have benefited tremendously from the excellent care that I received. Thank you again Dr. Neustadt!

Scoliosis
Thank you and your team for everything this past year. Rachel is thriving physically and mentally. While my main hope was to prevent future scoliosis complications, I never expected such immediate improvements in balance, motor skills, and even cognition. For 15 years, Rachel struggled with balance and could never ride a bike. After surgery, she pedaled on a tandem bike on her first try—an incredible milestone that lets her be active with our family. Your compassionate team made all the difference. We are truly grateful!
