Alexander T. Sanders, MD.

Dr. Alexander T. Sanders is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating with honors from Texas Christian University. He received his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Sanders then completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital where he developed a special interest in spine and hip surgery.

Dr. Sanders specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of pediatric orthopaedic conditions. His clinical interests include developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), hip preservation, scoliosis and kyphosis, congenital orthopaedic anomalies, general pediatric orthopaedics, and fracture care.

Throughout his training, Dr. Sanders has been actively involved in research focused on pediatric orthopaedic conditions and patient care. His research has included adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, developmental dysplasia of the hip, pediatric fracture care, pain and fear reduction during fracture treatment, and the use of technology in pediatric orthopaedic practice and training. He was selected as an Arabella Leet Resident and Fellow Forum Presenter for one of the top eight case presentations at the International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium.

In addition to his clinical and research interests, Dr. Sanders has held several leadership positions throughout his education and training, including serving on the Residency Selection Committee and Resident Council at the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Sanders joined Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates in 2026.
